Dear Family and Friends:
As some of you know, I have cancer and have been in chemotherapy since early September. Thanks to those of you who have reached out to express concern and support.
Three hospital visits in July, August, and September for issues with my GI tract ended with a diagnosis of t-cell lymphoma and a first chemo session. I’m currently scheduled for six three-week sessions. The third started Friday October 18th. There is some imaging coming on November 1st that may change the plan.
I’ve been tolerating chemo well – walking and eating. I’m a bit more tired than normal and I can have a little trouble sleeping. My hair has thinned considerably, but there’s still some left. Unfortunately, I’m unable to participate in orchestra, curling, or theatre because those environments are not friendly to someone whose immune system is suppressed from the chemo. The future is cloudy.
I really appreciate those who have taken time to come by and visit or otherwise get in touch.
I hope to keep you updated with occasional posts.
Thanks.
