I have the difficult job of informing you all the sad news that Doug passed away on Monday, December 23, 2024. He went into cardiac arrest and was resuscitated only long enough for Galan, Angela, his sister Jill and me to arrive and say our goodbyes.
I ask that NO SOCIAL MEDIA POST be made so that we can contact friends and relatives ourselves.
Many of you know that he had experienced many instances of atrial fibrillation (A-fib) over the past 29 years, each time cardioverted (via shock to his heart) back into a normal sinus rhythm. Doug's heart simply could not sustain him through treatment for this rare T cell lymphoma.
Thank you for the support and encouragement you have expressed during Doug's illness. A celebration of Doug's life will be planned for January or February; details to follow. His obituary is here.
